Our mission is to further the longstanding friendship between the people of the United States and Germany and to foster transatlantic philanthropy.
We support a wide number of charities in Germany through contributions, grants, or other forms of charitable giving. We thereby follow strict grantmaking procedures which require that recipients must be approved by the IRS and German tax authorities as charitable organizations under US and German tax law.
Our goal is to provide US donors with the possibility to support charitable organizations in Germany by using American Friends of Germany as an intermediary organization. Individuals as well as companies can take advantage of American Friends of Germany's services and can further charitable work abroad. At the same time they will receive the maximum tax benefits they can claim against the US tax authorities.
In addition to assisting US donors, charitable organizations in Germany use American Friends of Germany's expertise and advantageous legal structure to achieve their fundraising goals in the US.
